Eric E. Douglass, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Dr. Douglass is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and is board certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. He has been serving the physical therapy needs of the people of Southwest Florida for over a decade. Dr. Douglass completed his under graduate work at the University of Florida and then graduated Suma Cum Laude from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 1991. He returned to the Ola Grimsby institute in 2006 and earned fellowship status with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. In 1998 he joined the Ola Grimsby Institute and began a clinical residency program specializing in Orthopedic Manual Therapy of the spine and extremities. He became a Certified Manual Physical Therapist in 2001 and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2002. In 2005, Dr. Douglass received his board certification as an orthopedic specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He returned to the Ola Grimsby institute in 2006 and earned fellowship status with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He is well respected amongst his colleagues and his patients appreciate his skill and dedication. He is committed to keeping abreast of current research and ideas to assure his patients are being provided the latest in scientific & evidence based physical therapy innovations.
Ryan J. Wallace, PT, DPT, OCS, MTC
Dr. Wallace is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a certification in Manual Physical Therapy. Dr. Wallace is a native of Michigan. He graduated Cum Laude from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in chemistry in 1997. He then continued his education at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and graduated in 1999 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with High Honors in 2006. In 2008, Dr. Wallace was recognized as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Through his dedication to one-on-one quality care and an evidence-based manual therapy approach, Dr. Wallace's patients experience a caring attitude and remarkable outcomes. Dr. Wallace dedicates himself to allowing his patient to work, to play, and to live in the community they enjoy.
Emily K. Bartels, DPT, MTC
Dr. Bartels is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. In 2002 she was awarded an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. She received her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2005 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2008 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. She is a native of Illinois and moved to Bonita Springs in June 2008. Dr. Bartels became a Certified Manual Physical Therapist in 2009 and has also done extensive work with vestibular therapy and pelvic health. Dr. Bartels is the Clinical Education Coordinator for students of physical therapy hoping further their education at Douglass Orthopedic. Dr. Bartels is responsive to her patients' needs at every level and is dedicated to providing care for the whole person. Patients enjoy her friendly demeanor and encouragement while achieving their goals for improved function.
Trisha L. Schwartz, PT, MBA, DPT, OMPT
Dr. Schwartz is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a specialization in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Becoming a physical therapist was her lifelong goal. At the age of eleven, she was hit by a car while riding her bike, sustained complicated orthopedic injuries, and underwent many months of physical therapy in order to walk again. In 1999, she achieved her goal when she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toledo. She began her career in orthopedic physical therapy in Michigan, where she assisted clients with injury recovery for over a decade before moving to Southwest Florida. During her time in Michigan, she graduated Cum Laude from Walsh College with a Master’s of Business Administration in 2004. She then continued her education in physical therapy at Oakland University where she completed the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy certification in 2007. In 2010, Dr. Schwartz graduated from Oakland University with a transitional Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. To supplement the manual treatments, she often utilizes Pilates based exercises to strengthen the core musculature and to protect the spine. She is committed to the quality of care her clients receive and bases her treatments on research supported techniques. Dr. Schwartz respects the individuality of each client and will tailor a treatment plan unique to their needs.
